We have been hearing initial announcements in recent months with regard to the new regional HQ campus Nationwide Insurance has planned for North Scottsdale. Dirt is now moving and construction will soon be underway for this $950 million, 134-acre mixed use development located at the northwest corner of Hayden Rd & the Loop 101 south of Legacy Blvd and east of Miller Rd.
Cavasson is planned to include approximately 1.8 million square feet of luxury commercial office space which will encompass a 460,000 sf five-story building dedicated to Nationwide’s regional headquarters – the anchor tenant. This structure will house over 2,000 employees with an adjacent six deck parking garage contain about 3,750 parking spaces.
Following this initial phase, the master plan calls for another 1.3 million sf of commercial office space along with 1,600 residences, hotels, retail, restaurants, and other amenities. We feel this is wonderful for our surrounding established neighborhoods such as Grayhawk, DC Ranch and a host of others, since these communities are perfectly located and walkable to amenities. It simply offers more options for residents and will add growth to the area. Included in the plan is a healthy $30 million infrastructure improvement package which will also be of huge benefit to those of us who live in the surrounding areas. As residential realtors who are actively involved in these communities we are truly excited for the energy this will bring.

Here is the preliminary site plan posted on the Cavasson web site, and as more details & timeframes unfold I’m sure we will learn more about the local businesses & builders that plan to be involved beyond Nationwide. Cavasson is owned by Nationwide Realty Investors in conjunction with Grayhawk Development.
“Economic growth potential was specifically cited by Arizona Governor Doug Ducey, who praised the project, remarking that, ‘Nationwide’s choice to make a major investment in Arizona will build upon the great strength of our economy by adding hundreds of high-quality jobs.’ Scottsdale Mayor W.J. “Jim” Lane echoed those sentiments, stating that, “a company with a reputation for quality like Nationwide Realty Investors does more than provide substantial economic impact to the city of Scottsdale; they enhance the vibrancy of our community and quality of life in our great city.”
Overall our glimpse into the future for this long-vacant land hugging the 101 is really exciting. With Cavasson’s great location and its delivery of mixed use property embracing a “neighborhood” feel, local residents will be able to enjoy even more amenities closer to home, while enjoying the growth of our beautiful North Scottsdale.
