Interesting news popped yesterday regarding the new Lyle Anderson community of Sierra Reserve in far northeast Scottsdale. This 223-acre property adjacent to the Scottsdale National Golf Club had been planned for an enclave of approximately 250 single story luxury homes ranging from 3000-6000sf, in a desert botanical setting with panoramic mountain views. Yesterday, GoDaddy founder and Scottsdale National Golf Club owner Bob Parsons purchased the entire property of Sierra Reserve from Lyle Anderson in order to create his future vision for the club. In a communication sent to us today by Lyle Anderson:
“While we are definitely disappointed that Sierra Reserve will not be developed, we are extremely grateful for the widespread enthusiasm that the community had for our vision. We also want to take this opportunity to express our sincerest gratitude to our prospective buyers, the real estate community, our vendor partners and members of the media for your time, interest and support, and to our incredibly talented team for the hard work, dedication and commitment to making Sierra Reserve a truly one-of-a-kind place to live.”
Although the homes that were slated for Sierra Reserve offered high end finishes and a variety of well designed floor plans, we felt that the pricing was going to be a challenge for the area. It will be interesting to see now what kind of changes this golf club will go through under Bob Parson’s direction! We’ll just have to wait and see.
