Breast cancer touched my life in the Spring of 2008. This page is dedicated to all of those who have fought this disease and are with us in spirit, as well as for the thousands of us who are fortunate enough to call ourselves survivors.
I have made it a priority to find a way to help other women who have been faced with this diagnosis since the spring of ’08. I pondered the 3-Day 60 mile walk, and finally decided to put together a team. Team BAD GIRLS (this is indeed a relevant name, just ask my dear husband Andy) walked 60 miles over three days in November 2009, to celebrate survivors and raise funds to end breast cancer through Susan G. Komen for the Cure and the National Philanthropic Trust Breast Cancer Fund.
Our team goal was originally set at $10,000, and we blew it away, raising $35,000 with just ten women on board. We ended up being the #7 team in Arizona!
This year, with 18 walkers, we just broke $60,000 and walked strong, continuing our legacy of team strength. We have already set up our 2011 team with over $5000, and will be walking in the San Diego 3-Day next November. Visit my blog for regular updates on our progress.
For those of you who may not want to participate in the walk, but are interested in donating funds to our team, I will be happy to help you direct your funds to our team goal. If you have any questions at all, please do not hesitate to call me or send an email to firstname.lastname@example.org. I am passionate about what these funds will do for so many, and have committed my own business to the cause, donating funds to the 3Day from every real estate transaction I close. I am so fortunate to be here to do something positive with my experience. Your support is so appreciated.
With much gratitude,
